Kuala Kapuas is a great spot to see the beautiful natural scenery of Borneo. It's one of the oldest rainforests in the world, and it's home to a large number of traditional fishing villages.
The best time to
visit Kuala Kapuas is in November. It's the hottest month and has days with
highs of 88degF (31degC) and lows of 76degF (25degC).
Temperature in Kuala Kapuas 88 is usually very warm, although it does sometimes rain. If you're planning on traveling to Kuala Kapuas in November, you should pack light clothing like a long-sleeved shirt and lightweight pants. You might also want to bring a waterproof jacket or rain coat.
You should also
plan on bringing an umbrella if you're traveling to Kuala Kapuas during
November. The weather can be unpredictable in Kuala Kapuas, so it's important
to have an umbrella if you want to stay safe and dry.
Besides visiting
the waterfalls and other hot springs in the jungle, you can also go on a boat
trip up the Sekayam River. This river is lined with pristine tropical forest
and is known as the 'river of a thousand islands' because it is home to so many
beautiful and rare wildlife species.
Your first stop
will be Tayan, an attractive river town atop the Kapuas River, where you can
take a walk about the town and enjoy lunch. Afterwards, you will set sail to
Sanggau, the most bustling of these river ports. You'll spend the evening
ashore at Sanggau and have an opportunity to take a walk around this lively
town and its riverfront.
In addition to the
river, the area is dotted with beautiful lakes. Located in the upper Kapuas
floodplain, Lake Sentarum National Park is a popular destination for tourists
and locals alike.
There are several
waterfalls on the lake that are worth visiting, including Selimbau Falls and
Pancur Aljit. You can also visit a rehabilitation centre for orang-utan at
Sintang.
You can also visit
a nearby kraton, or old palace, in this picturesque old town. You can also go
ashore to the Lawang Shrines by local pernambang boat, which are sacred to the
Malays, Dyaks and Chinese.
Day 2 SINTANG TO SEKADAU
The last full day
on the tour will be spent sailing to Sekadau where you'll have a chance to
explore this charming river port, and perhaps visit an orang-utan
rehabilitation center. During the afternoon you'll set out on a boat trip up
the Mewali River and arrive at Sintang, where you can visit a traditional house
and a kraton.
Aside from the
beautiful scenery, there are a few other reasons to visit Kuala Kapuas in
November. You'll find that the temperature in Kuala Kapuas is incredibly warm
and humid throughout most of the year, with days with highs of 88degF and lows
of 76degF.
If you're looking
for a more active vacation, you can visit the area in June and July. The
climate is a bit cooler here than the other months of the year, but it still
feels very warm and humid.
